1957 Seeburg Jukebox Model HF100g

Here it is in all its glory, the Seeburg HF100g Jukebox of the hit TV show, “Happy Days.” This machine was extremely popular in locations when it was delivered back then. The original Seeberg “select-o-matic” was invented in 1952 and looked similar to this box. A nickel a selection and six songs for a quarter were the standard fees for music selections back then. The machine’s claim to fame is the exposed vertical player mechanism. You can see the machine in action when a selection is made. 50 records with two selections per record allowed a total of 100 selections. This machine also has a built-in popularity meter which added how many times a song was played. This information was used to calculate Top 100 song hit lists in its day as well as telling the operator which 45’s to replace from wear. Undercounter versions and wall boxes were also designed to match this machine.
